Fitness Walking Weekender
Wild Pear Centre, King Street, Combe Martin, Devon EX34 0AG
Following the success of last year’s Walking Weekender we are returning to the Wild Pear Centre in Combe Martin for another weekend of coastal climbs and wooded walks.
We’ll arrive on the Friday, late afternoon, when we can explore the local beach, have a healthy cooked meal from our catering team Kathy and Aileen of The Lynmouth Bay Cafe, before watching the sun set over the bay.
On Saturday, after breakfast, we’ll meet our guide and walk until lunchtime before stopping at a pub for lunch and then continuing our travels until late afternoon. This day will be perfect training for anyone wanting to do the Jurassic Coastal Path Challenge or any long endurance event later in the year. Once back at the Wild Pear we’ll be able to stretch, relax and have dinner before mooching off to the beach again to close the day.
Sunday will see us back on our feet and, unguided this time, walk for most of the morning before coming back for lunch before we prepare to head home.
This is a very outdoorsy weekend. Whatever the weather we will be walking. We spend very little time at the Wild Pear and make the most of the stunning scenery and walking opportunities.
It is suitable for someone with a modest level of fitness. There will be coastal climbs and descents on grass, gravel and pathways.
There is a limited number of twin rooms for sharing (no single room option) please ask for more details.
The price of £250+VAT (£300) includes all accommodation, meals, snacks and local guide. It doesn’t include your parking in the local car parks of about £5 per day.
