Good Friday with Heidi: It’s time…!
As you read this I’ll be checking and double checking that I’ve got everything I need to run a proper, outside Fit Camp session again!
It starts today!
We’ve waited three and a half months to get our bodies back outside, with others and collectively working our butts off together. I am so ready for it!
This week saw the very welcome return to outdoor activity across the sport, recreation and exercise sector. With cycle groups heading out at midnight on Monday, golfers taking a swing with a club pre-dawn and open water swimmers meeting for an early morning group dip, it’s been quite a news item this week.
I am delighted that we can get outside with our Fit Camp community again. Over the last 12 months or so they’ve worked out in their gardens, in their conservatories and garages and turned up session after session to keep the routine and the rhythm of their week. It’s not escaped me that some weeks some of them don’t show, they’ve had down days and crappy weeks when the thought of exercise was not high on the agenda.
They’ve managed their self-care with some abstinence, some sleep, maybe even some chocolate or wine to keep them going until the next injection of enthusiasm. And haven’t we all been there?! I haven’t met a person yet who hasn’t said that the last lockdown was the hardest for them to cope with. I’ve felt it too and am ready for something to change for us all.

This weekend I’ll be running outdoor group fitness sessions (in line with current guidance) at Bearwood Recreation Ground, Winnersh every day from Good Friday to Easter Monday. We’ll start at 9am each day for a 45 minute session.
With limits of 29 people per class plus an instructor it’s an insurance requirement that people pre-book before attending so as not to be disappointed.
Sessions need to remain socially distanced (it’s 3m x 3m for group exercise) and arrival and departure needs to be managed to reduce crowding.
But all that aside we can get back. I can get our clients together and we can create a healthy, motivating space for people to workout again.
If you would like to join us we have spaces on Saturday and Sunday still. We do need you to book in and you can do this either via our TeamUp app (https://goteamup.com/p/511340-fasttrack-fit-camp-ltd/) or by emailing info@fasttrack-fitcamp.co.uk with the day you wish to attend. It’s £8 a session if you aren’t a member and want to pay-as-you-go.
If you are still happier at home – the sessions running this morning, Sunday and Monday will be simultaneously broadcast on Zoom too to our Virtually There campers so they can get their fix still.
So there you have it! This weekend is all sorted.
You provide the post-workout snack of choice (hot cross buns, mini eggs or Lindt bunnies) and I’ll provide the means with which to earn it!
Have a wonderful Easter whatever you do — just try and get outside where possible!
