It seems like a lot can happen in a week in lockdown.
Last week I was feeling pretty flat with it all. As were those around me.
This week I feel I am being pulled along by the energy of people seeing a possibility for something different.
Hurrah for that!
In a week that’s seen Wokingham be named the ‘Healthiest Place to Live‘ in the country, Public Health England report that over 6 million adults between 40-60 want to improve their health after lockdown and we got the go ahead to run outdoor sessions again from the end of this month (subject to Government announcements on 22 March) – I feel like we’re making progress towards a healthy and positive summer.
This is good news.
The Public Health England article (here) states that:
- 40% want to eat more healthily
- 39% want to lose weight
- 41% want to exercise more.
This is excellent news.
It’s not news that the better you can look after your physical and mental health the better the chance you have to fight off infection, disease and life limiting conditions. But then again we’ve not lived through such a medically challenging time and seen the consequences around us before — and people find these drivers more compelling and want to act on them.
At FastTrack Fit Camp we’re getting geared up to help these people do just that.
- To get back outside to exercise together.
- To help people find their mojo after a period of isolated workouts at home. Working out together has been shown to challenge even the least competitive participant in a group workout.
- To support our clients on their weight loss journey with Metabolic Balance.
I have made tentative plans to get back outside at Easter.
I am hesitant to make plans to jump straight back outside from 29 March just in case we’re held back in the next announcement. So my plan for now is to run four sessions at Bearwood Recreation Ground, Winnersh every day over the Easter weekend at 09.00 – 09.45 (Good Friday to Bank Holiday Monday).
These sessions will be restricted to 29 participants as per the guidelines and we can run that with ample space around everyone so that they are comfortably socially distanced in a space of around 3m x 3m.
I have a core group of Fit Campers who are d.e.s.p.e.r.a.t.e to get back outside together and I am looking forward to hearing the banter, the moaning, the heckles and the encouragement from them all.
These sessions will be open to members and non-members alike. The requirement though is the same for everyone, you will need to pre-register so that we can manage numbers. This can be done through our TeamUp Membership site (here) which you can register on and reserve a place.
If…we’re not allowed to go back outside then we’ll remain online with our Zoom sessions. I am crossing everything that we’ll be able to get out, that the weather will be stunning and that all Easter eggs are calorie free (hmm, may have to cross a bit harder for that one!)
Are you one of the 6 million?
Would you like to have a chat to see how I can help you?
If you want a complimentary 15 minute chat about what we do and how we can help, please reply to this email and drop us a line (email@example.com). If we’re not right for you I’ll tell you and see if I can offer some other options. The beauty of living in the Healthiest Town in England is that I know a lot of people who love what they do and want to help you too!.
There’s a lot of us. We’re ready and waiting for you.
Have a great weekend!
