Friday with Heidi: A year on..
What were you doing this time last year?
No clue?
I know what I was doing because yesterday I celebrated 1 year of it.
Last July I, with a group of other local business owners, launched a new chapter of the BNI networking group in Reading. It was a poignant moment, we had around 28 founder members and we formed a very supportive, friendly and collaborative group very quickly.
We meet weekly and the main aim of the organisation is to support each other in the search of recommendations and referrals for business.
Each week we meet to get to know each other a little better. Find out a bit more about their businesses and support them further. As we’ve got stronger as a group, the energy has rubbed off onto others and we’ve attracted more members wanting to do the same.
Steady, constant, regular effort.
It got me thinking about the last 12 months and what’s happened in the pursuit of people’s health goals.
Take one of our clients from Henley camp.
He joined us last July looking to start exercising regularly in an attempt to make some positive changes to his life.
With regular attendance, good effort and consistency he’s more than been repaid for his efforts. His weight is down in excess of 2 stone. There’s no comparison to his fitness and strength from last July to now and his blood pressure is so reduced he’s either off the medication or on a much reduced dose.
Steady, constant, regular effort.
When we chose a new vision for ourselves it can seem far away and unachievable at times. We may not want to start at all for fear of the journey ahead. However, when we make the steps to steady, constant and regular effort it always pays off.
Whether you are saving money, losing weight, paying off a debt, renovating a house, keeping the weeds at bay, getting fitter, improving flexibility or growing a business group it’s the steady, constant and regular effort that will get you there.
- What have you done before that shows you that you’re capable of this?
- What would you like to improve by using this approach?
- How are you going to start?
I wish you luck whatever it is, just remember though, start today, because the next year will pass anyway.
The end of June brought our complimentary Sunday sessions to a close. With effect from this week we have an online only Sunday membership for anyone wanting to log in at 9am each week.
But for those who’d like the regular commitment to 2 sessions a week we also have a new Lifestyle Membership giving you access to any 2 sessions a week of which Sunday could be one of them.
Both of these are available via the links or if you’d like more details about how we’re helping people use Fit Camp sessions online during lockdown you can email us in the office at admin@fasttrack-fitcamp.co.uk where we can help you find the right package for you.
