It’s been a fine week in lockdown week 10.
The weather has shone brightly.
The days have become longer.
Time is passing quite rapidly.
And I’ve been thinking about the normality of our situation.
There’s a theory that we can only put something off for so long because of external influences.
Take right now.
I’ve been talking to people who want to start to improve their health through weight loss or their fitness through exercise. However, they’ve convinced themselves that they’ll do it after the lockdown is over when life returns to normal.
I can accept that most of us felt that way in the early days, but how long will it continue?
If something continues longer than 3 months then it’s a new normal.
If something is going on for longer than 3 months we can consider that we need to make the changes that we want now, rather than waiting for things to be different.
With lockdown in it’s tenth week I’ve decided it’s time to look at what I’ve been putting off.
What have you been putting off and what would you like to make changes on now?
Our Virtually There: Fit Camp sessions are attracting new campers, old campers and keeping our regulars active and mobile. Given that we’ve been able to make sessions easier to attend I’ve seen a massive improvement in fitness to those who’ve taken advantage of our enhanced membership and used their extra sessions.
- Have you been putting off exercising for fear of not being able to ‘keep up’?
- Have you not wanted to join FastTrack Fit Camp before because you were worried about how you’d look in front of others?
- Do you want to feel better quickly?

Or from one of our regulars who has challenged her friends to join her online each Sunday
“Just a quick message to say how much me and my pals are loving Sunday Fit Camp. We’ve known each other for over 20 years and we’re the very best of mates who see each other regularly and get drunk ALOT. These strange times have stopped that. But Sundays we get up and get active then compare our red faces afterwards, congratulate each other on getting out of bed and get on with our days.” NM
Or from an ex-camper who is delighted that she can work out in the privacy of her garden,
“I am also grateful not to have to exercise in public, but in the privacy of home, so, again a positive.” F

Finally, you can join us ALL DAY LONG on Friday 12 June to Saturday 13 June for our FastTrack’s 24 Hour (Virtual) Fit Camp.
A 24 hour block of 24 x 45 minute sessions (all on Zoom) to raise money for charity and try a bunch of new stuff at the same time…at your pace, sharing with mates online and yet from the privacy of your home.

So I’ll leave you with the thought that the next 3 months will pass anyway, maybe it’s now time to change what they look like.
