Friday with Heidi: In the midst of every crisis, lies great opportunity…
Whether Einstein said this or not is largely irrelevant. I love the concept.
This has been the most quickly changing week I’ve experienced in business.
In the early 90s I worked in a Building Society when interest rates rocketed to 15%. We had people coming in and handing us the keys to a house they could no longer afford to live in. The mortgage schemes were constantly moving and no one knew what the Chancellor was going to do next.
This week has been quicker moving and more challenging.
However, through it all I feel that it can be used as a huge opportunity for all of us.
Maybe you’ve been sent to work from home?
Suddenly you have your commute time back (time to exercise?), you have time to eat breakfast at the table not in the car and you can finish your work day and be home within 10 seconds.
Maybe you’ve been told to keep going to work?
The traffic is amazingly light at the moment, you can have a less stressful commute each day. The office may well be quieter, you can get more done, more quickly.
Maybe you are just slowing down, taking time out to spend time with your family more, keeping in contact via Facetime or Skype or just getting to bed earlier.
Here at FastTrack Fit Camp I have chosen to take a similar approach.
There’s got to be some good in these seemingly wretched situations. I’ve decided to keep on, as much as possible, to business as usual. Don’t get me wrong, I am not a happy bunny all the time. I sat in the garden and had a bit of a cry the other day at how overwhelming the all the changes were. But I allow myself some timed self-pity, then I pick myself up and get back to the more important job.
- What we offer is helping the local community to stay well.
- We do it safely and considerately in large, open spaces using social distancing rules.
- We do it to ensure some normality in an ever changing environment that could throw you off kilter.
- We want to ensure that we can help you keep your mood up with some good, heart pumping, outdoor exercise.
- We want to give you the best chance to stay healthy and boost your immune system.
I am making sure that we do this in as calm a way as possible. Helping members and non-members where we can.
Limiting changes as much as possible.
Keeping what we do best, at the heart of it. This isn’t the time to go off in a new direction. Offering body weight, interval based exercise is what we’ve done for 10 years and will continue to do so.
We are experiencing several timetable changes and so if you are in any doubt as to what is running when, please drop us a line to admin@fasttrack-fitcamp.co.uk so we can let you know where we’re at in that moment.
Thank you for supporting us at this time.
I hope that we can support you so that when it’s over we can look back on this start to 2020 and say ‘what was that all about?‘
Some good news…
The National Trust are opening all their open spaces during this time, keeping people outside in nature and moving is essential and truly generous.
A sky…
Because we all know I like a good sky…
