Clean, Green Fit Camp | Trees November 2019
I may not have been updating you weekly on the progress within our Social Enterprise projects over the last few weeks but we have been diligently plugging away at doing our bit for our community and the environment. As is to be expected there’s a lull then a surge and we’re about to head towards a surge of activity across several areas.
In each of these areas we’ve made small a small contribution, but, as in health and well-being, small and consistent practice is where results happen.
The trainers are starting to multiply again!
After sending the 9 bags away last month I am now up to 2 full bags on my step, plus an almost full bag in the rack. This weekend I am taking my bins along to Foxes Den – The Community Cafe in Binfield. The Bracknell Less Plastic group on Facebook are running an Eco Christmas Market and Refill Pop Up day. Click the link and you can find out more.
It’s Saturday 23 November 10.00-15.00, Foxes Den Cafe, Binfield.
If you have trainers (or shoes), adults or kids that you want to pass on, please do take them along and look out for my bins! Thank you!
I am also very, very happy to be getting our first trees in the ground this week.
Shinfield Primary are about to benefit from several trees that we collectively based on soil quality and their preference. I look forward to sharing that with you next week.
Since we last updated you we’ve raised some dosh for charities too.
In October we raised £220 for Thames Hospice and on 3 November we pledged £500 to the The Big Give for Wokingham based Dingley’s Promise.
Thank you so much to everyone who donated. It’s always so well received by the charities.
We also have our updated impacts total on the B1G1 platform.
Our Social Enterprise efforts were recognised as we were finalists in the Company of the Year award at the Against Breast Cancer Achievement awards in October. It was lovely to be recognised for our work in such a short space of time.
FastTrack Fit Camp is an outdoor fitness business with the focus on improving people on the inside so they feel good on the outside. In 2019 FastTrack Fit Camp became a Social Enterprise in Wokingham and committed to distribute a minimum of 50% of profits back to community environmental projects each year with the goal of helping our local citizens feel good whilst being outside too.
