This week we’ve finally managed to pass on our most recent collection of trainers and shoes to our chosen charity.
Despite that, we still had 9 very full bags ready for collection today. It’s a very satisfying feeling that we can help these other charities at the same time as we’re doing our bit.
Given that I now have an empty step again…you know what to do! Any old trainers, football boots, plimmies, high tops or running shoes, adult or kiddies are all welcome. Even the odd shoe you find on the roadside is good too. Please pop it in your car and let me have it.
This week I was gifted two trees.
One was as a result of our successful application to the CSR-Accreditation and the other was from a client and supplier friend who I helped out of a sticky situation at short notice. This means that I am up to 4 donated trees and next month we are starting to plant them too at the two Wokingham Borough Schools that we have chosen. More news as it happens.
(Currently working on a web page version of this too for easy visibility!)
Our 100 Day Fitness Plogging Challenge continues and we have people across Berkshire doing their bit for their health and that of their communities. Lots of litter being collected each day and they’re already seeing the results on their regular walks.
On Sunday 20 October we have our Family Charity Fund Raising Camp at 09.00. We’re raising funds for Thames Hospice and full details can be found here. We look forward to seeing you there!
Finally, this week is Social Enterprise Awareness Week. It’s organised by Social Enterprise UK and we’ve been talking about our work on social media. Did you know that there are over 100,000 businesses trading as Social Enterprises across the UK? It’s easier than ever to business with businesses who care and want to do good.
FastTrack Fit Camp is an outdoor fitness business with the focus on improving people on the inside so they feel good on the outside. In 2019 FastTrack Fit Camp became a Social Enterprise in Wokingham and committed to distribute a minimum of 50% of profits back to community environmental projects each year with the goal of helping our local citizens feel good whilst being outside too.
