Getting Fit at 40 | Jill’s move from gym to Fit Camp…
We like helping clients in their forties at FastTrack Fit Camp.
We find that their challenges are usually time (I don’t have enough!) and mindset (I’m not fit enough!)
Jill is no exception and has overcome both brilliantly to her benefit.
Why did you join FastTrack Fit Camp?
I need to have accountability when it comes to my fitness. Having a gym membership wasn’t working and I was fed-up with the gym environment but more importantly I wanted to improve my overall health and well being and Fit Camp seemed a good option.
How many sessions a week do you manage?
3 per week at Warfield Fit Camp.
What are the biggest challenges you face to fitting exercise in each week?
I suppose for me it is time, but that really isn’t a challenge if I am being honest – I don’t have children and I run my own business so I can be as flexible with my day as I need to. My biggest challenge is me and my mindset!
How does attending Fit Camp help you to deal with these challenges?
That is the best thing about Fit Camp, the timings of the classes that I attend at Warfield are in the evening and on a Saturday morning so I have finished my working day and at the weekends have the rest of the weekend to get on with stuff. Whilst there is no pressure to attend the sessions I feel accountable to going, and the fact I love it also helps.
What benefits have you got from attending Fit Camp that you weren’t expecting?
As I work from home I find that several days can go by where I don’t interact with other people, apart from my partner. Fit Camp has not only improved my fitness levels but I have met a brilliant group of people who are really welcoming.
What’s you favourite exercise?
Burpees! When I first started Fit Camp I couldn’t do a burpee, even the simplified version – as the months have gone on, I can now do a burpee. It may not be as fast or as graceful as other people’s but I can do it! I love that and if I ever have that doubt in my mind about whether I can achieve something I always think about my burpees and how with time and practice you can do anything you set out to do.
