Getting fit in your forties won’t be the same as it was in your twenties.
For Vicky getting fit had a very definite goal – read more to find out what it was and why she trains with us at the Warfield Fit Camp.
Why did you join FastTrack Fit Camp?
After having two children recently I was out of shape and had done very little exercise for two years. I stupidly agreed to complete a Tough Mudder with my husband, it was February and the race was in May. I joined Fit Camp in a blind panic to get fit enough to run the 10 miles and complete the course!
How many sessions a week do you manage?
Ideally 3 but juggling work travel and a family sometimes it’s less. I use Heidi’s audio workouts when I can’t get to a class or am on hols.
What are the biggest challenges you face to fitting exercise in each week?
Work commitments, a lot of travel along with a young family make it really tricky. Being able to show up to different times and locations makes a massive difference – I can never commit to a regular schedule so the flexibility is perfect for me.
How does attending Fit Camp help you to deal with these challenges?
Work is full on and I definitely find it easier to rationalise and switch off when I regularly exercise. I also love the fact my little boys see us exercise and they understand it’s important to be active. They’ve joined me on a Sunday morning a few times – as has my Mum!
What benefits have you got from attending Fit Camp that you weren’t expecting?
More energy, met some lovely people and I’ve realised how important being outside in the fresh air is to me.
What’s you favourite exercise?
I love the cardio like jacks and high knees, but have enjoyed getting stronger and improving at things like planks and press ups.
