Friday with Heidi: Not Just A Bootcamp…
Have you had a funny-weird week?
I have. It’s been out of routine for a start, I’ve had lots of ‘peopling’ which leaves me quite in need of a lie down afterwards and it’s a short week for me.
It’s key holiday time for our fabulous instructor team at Fit Camp and so we’re all shifting about to cover the various sessions. I love this, it gives me chance to see some of the camps I never normally get to. It’s also been a double winner this week as I’ve been covering Wokingham Early Risers and I can walk there and do sky gazing on my way.
I’ve spent some time with new networking colleagues and clients and, as much as I enjoy learning about them and what makes them tick, I do need to go and process it all afterwards and be by myself. You extroverts may not get that, but trust me, we introverts can easily get over peopled!
And today I am taking our elder daughter up to Leeds as she embarks on her further education journey. So today is a day of driving and being mum, not the Fit Camp lady.
This week I’ve been helping people uncover their exercise and practical eating mojo.
Like the cycles of the moon or seasons, our ability to sustain the energy, commitment and willpower to maintain a regime can ebb and flow.
When we’re on it and riding high we feel like we’re never going to stop – it feels so good! But, when we ebb we can’t imagine ever getting back to that place and feeling the love for it again.
This week I’ve been chatting with clients about what they’re looking forward to doing once their mojo is back and they’ve made progress. In no particular order it’s included…
- To avoid being put on blood pressure medication.
- To stand on Machu Picchu knowing that it was a happy challenge, not an uncomfortable slog.
- To wear clothes from the wardrobe again.
- To lose the belly.
- To feel strong enough in the upper body to do full press ups.
- To sleep through the night.
- To establish a routine so that mental health is improved by being outside more.
- To have improved stamina for mountain biking.
- To put boundaries in place for ‘me time’.
- To feel more flexible.
- Exercising improves eating.
What’s your driver?
What’s stopping you from starting?
What’s your story as to why you can’t have that outcome?
This week I challenge you to write down 10 things maximum that if, in a weeks time, you’ve completed them all it will have been a truly amazing week.
It can be anything from:
- Listening to my audio book for 30 minutes each day.
- Writing in my journal 5 days in seven.
- Being outside every day for 10 minutes minimum.
- Eating what I take to work for lunch and not buying anything.
- Exercising for 45 minutes, 3 times this week.
- Drinking an extra 500ml water per day.
- Working how much sleep I need each night, and getting it 5 days out of 7.
- Call my mum.
- Read with my child…
You get the idea. It may well bring your mojo back!
Do let me know how it goes.
This week I want to remind you about our 10@10 Birthday Run programme that starts on 9 September. All details can be found HERE. This is a collaborative programme between FastTrack Fit Camp and Elite Conditioning combining both Fit Camp and running sessions to get you from 0 to 10km in 12 weeks.
FastTrack Fit Camp is an outdoor fitness business with the focus on improving people on the inside so they feel good on the outside. In 2019 FastTrack Fit Camp became a Social Enterprise and committed to distribute a minimum of 50% of profits back to community environmental projects each year with the goal of helping our local citizens feel good whilst being outside too.
