I do like a good think and plan and this week has been great for it.
I’ve been thinking and planning our last few months of the year so that we reach our 10th anniversary ready to take on ten more.
It got me thinking about averages and norms.
The life span of a UK start up? 50% fail within the first four years.
The percentage of females owning business starts ups in the UK? 25%
The age of people starting a business in the UK? 25% between 40-49
I, and FastTrack Fit Camp, don’t appear to be average here.
10 years old – minority gender starting a business – not the highest age bracket for starting a business (that was 50+)
It got me thinking about our campers and whether they are average or not.
I looked at our top 20 attending campers this year and this is what I found.
Based on this range, our ‘average‘ camper is a female, 51 years old and attends 10.3 sessions a month.
In reality our top attending camper is a male, 59 years old and does 20 sessions a month.
And if I look at who in the list is doing 10.3 sessions a month, it’s a 49 year old male.
I love it! We’re not average or normal at all, even in our community!
In the UK a woman has on average 1.9 children. In Fit Camp, from our top 20 female campers, our average is 1 child per woman.
In so many ways we’re so not average at Fit Camp!
To see how you fit into our FWH readership here’s a two question quiz to find that out.
If you value your individuality. If you want to do something different, be something different, think something different come and give us a go.
We offer a free trial week for you to, test the waters so to speak and find out what we do and, if you like it. But that’s what the average camper does 🙂
If you fancy doing something really different this autumn, something out of the ordinary, I invite you to consider joining me in a collaborative programme I am running with Karen Burles from Elite Conditioning.
We’ve joined forces to come up with a cross-training programme to get you from 0-10km in 12 weeks with just two running and two Fit Camp sessions a week. The best bit? Both Karen and I are doing it too! We’re getting in and sweaty with each others sessions, so you can see that we do what we ask of you too.
Full details are now available and we only have 20 places that are being offered out to both Karen’s mail list and ours.
You can find out more and how to book now on this link https://goteamup.com/providers/configure/memberships/64512/
We’re both looking forward to working with some brilliantly average people this autumn!
Clean, Green, Fit Camp
Trainers – we’re almost at our fourth full bag. I’ve even picked up roadside finds this week to add to our collection. It’s the simple things in life!
Trees – I am quietly excited about a meeting I am having today with someone from the Wokingham Council who saw my post on Facebook about planting trees and offered to meet with me! I will let you know how it goes next week. But I am a teensy bit excited about Fit Camp trees in Wokingham becoming a reality and being one step closer!
Litter Picking – last week’s litter pick at Bearwood Recretion Ground was very successful. In 30 minutes we collected 15kgs of rubbish and some bottles for recycling that we didn’t weigh. Thank you so much to Maya from Maya’s Refillables who joined us. She has a market stall in Wokingham every Friday and Saturday, please pop along and say hello!
Our next litter pick will be on Sunday 11 August at 09.45 at Bearwood Recreation Ground after Sunday Wake Up!
Finally, I like to remind you about other local business. Here’s my blog post again talking about all things lovely about a Wokingham based business growing, harvesting and selling organic microgreens. They’re tasty, James is passionate and best of all they’re great for you too!
