At the starting blocks…knees shaking
This morning my alarm screached at the bright time of 05:20 and I knew today was the day I start the “6 Week Feel Good Programme”, with FastTrack Fit Camp.
My knees were a bit wobbly with nerves, encouraged by the temperature of – 1c outside. Shivering.
Arriving at Wokingham Early Risers, I was greeted by some smiley people, also still trying to open their eyelids before the 6am start.
Karen, the professional, fun-loving instructor got us moving our limbs pretty swiftly to warm up. She also got our abs working through us laughing at all her jokes.
The 45 minute session consisted of a warm up, rounds of different exercises, a game and a gentle cool down.
Each exercise used different muscles, and I got a full body workout.
Karen was a great encourager, who supported people to do the exercises correctly, so they could get the most out of it.
The thing I loved most about this bootcamp is it is designed for any fitness level, at any age and its absolutely for anyone.
My story is, I have been up and down the scales more times then a fireman has been up and down a ladder. Therefore, I find joining fitness camps, slightly terrifying.
But this one, made me feel part of the crew from the first minute.
Do I dare say it….but I am looking forward to my 05:20am alarm on Friday to go to my second session with the Wokingham Early Risers.
Stay tuned everyone, more blogs to come explaining the programme – the fitness sessions, accountability, emails and meal ideas.
Also I will share people’s fitness stories and a bit more about my fitness/weight journey.
Over and out.
