It’s been a week of lots of good and exciting stuff.
Firstly, let’s talk about the weather!
I am in hog-heaven.
My sleeping pattern has been, let’s say, challenged, this week. But I’ve been more than happy to get up and out the house, even if it’s early, when the weather is like this. I’ve been doing my walk between 05:00 and 06:00 most days this week and coming home so I can sit in the garden with a drink before breakfast. It’s been glorious and certainly helped me to feel good about my day before I even have to think about it.
Other feel good stuff this week has been the Venus Finalists announcement on Tuesday at Newbury Racecourse. I mentioned a few weeks ago that I’d been lucky enough to get through to the semi-finals as one of the top 5 in two categories. Small Business and Lifetime Achievement Award.
I am pleased to say that I didn’t get through this year. And yes, you read that right, I did say pleased!
Whilst it would have been lovely, I was already wondering if I wanted to be awarded a Lifetime Achievement at 47. I want to do more with my life yet and am more than happy that awards of that title wait a touch longer. I was also relieved not to have moved through to Small Business as I really wasn’t at my best when I’d had my interview a few weeks ago and really wan’t worthy of moving into the last three. What it has helped me to realise is where to focus on my business over the next few months. I always like to look for the lesson.
Yesterday I got almost all of the team together for some self development training in Winnersh. We had a facilitator come in and talk to us about our personal strengths based on the Clifton Strengths Finder process. They all really enjoyed it.
I was delighted, but not really surprised, that as a team, we have over 60% of our skills based around Relationship Building and Execution of tasks. It makes sense given the wonderful feedback I get time and again about the coaching team and how well liked they are.
It also gave me an opportunity to see how I can use more of them doing what they do best for future projects. Well worth the time out of the day for all of us.
If you’ve never seen us all before, here we are in our fabulousness 🙂
Today I want to offer you the chance to join me and some of my team at the FastTrack Weekender Events later this year.
22-24 June we’re heading to North Devon on a walking and releasing weekend. It will include coastal walks, yoga and stretching, Nordic Walking sessions, mind, body and health workshops and catered on site by me. There are 5 places available and we’d love for you join us for a summer solstice weekend. Full details are here.
Between 12-14 October we are going back to Monmouthshire to High Cloud Farm for a multi-activity weekend. It will include Fit Camp, outdoor workouts, walking, running, swimming (there’s a pool!) and our usual smattering of workshops and mini-seminars. We have 15 places and there are some single room options. This event has had a lot of interest already and so to secure your place please click the link here –
and secure your place. If you’d like a single room (3 available) please drop me an email to let me know.
At both these events I’ll be helped out by members of the team so we can pull together and use each others strengths to host a wonderful weekend.
Finally this week I want to remind you that we have our Family Charity Camp on Sunday 29 April for Bowel Cancer UK. Please join us at Bearwood Recreation Ground, Winnersh at 09:00 and all monies go to the charity. If that isn’t pulling together as a collective I don’t know what is!
P.S. If you’ve been following my health journey, here’s a link to this week’s reflection on H2O. It’s been a really pleasantly surprising result after two weeks effort.
