Apologies for missing you last week, but the week was full and, well let me explain…
On Monday last week I attended the semi-finalist announcement for the Thames Valley Venus Awards. I’d been nominated by two people for the Influential Woman category and I dutifully went along to see what was what.
I was more than delighted to be moved to the semi final stage in not one, but two categories. Neither of which was Influential Woman, but I am more delighted with the categories I am through to. The Small Business and Lifetime Achievement.
FastTrack Fit Camp is a small business, but we have a big community and of that I am incredibly proud. And as for Lifetime Achievement, I think I wear my stripes well here. I’ve been reading about health and food and well-being since I was 10 when someone bought me a St Michael (remember that for M&S?!) Health and Beauty book. I was hooked.
On Tuesday I was privileged enough to be asked to speak to 61 business women at the launch of the new Henley-on-Thames Athena Networking Group. I’ve been a member for nearly 10 years across several regions and I was delighted to be asked by Debbie.
It was a fabulous event and a hugely successful launch. I had 8 minutes to talk about how to care for yourself when running your own business. I talk about this stuff all the time, so 8 minutes is nothing, and I crammed in my F.E.L.T protocol, using the 1% rule and then challenging the group to make a change.
On Thursday I helped our youngest pile all her worldly goods into her car and we moved her out of home to her new life in Manchester. It was high emotion*, full of challenges and little sleep. I left her at Manchester Piccadilly station on Friday evening and sat in a comatose trance all the way home.
(*it was in this time of hubbub that I left my laptop at home so I wasn’t able to write to you last week.)
On Sunday we ran a wonderful Sport Relief Family Fit Camp. Everyone had to wear a hat and chuck in some pennies for the charity. We raised a lovely £171.00 and there were hats a plenty. Thank you to everyone who came along, I do appreciate your humouring my whims!
And that, as they say was that.
Everything that happened last week was taken over by the next thing. And isn’t that always the way? Life trundles along and then whoosh you’re overtaken by a barrage of things in one go.
I think as long as we can accept that, not get wound up on the details and bob and sink with the waves then we’ll flow along nicely.
So now it’s Easter, I do hope you have a wonderful weekend.
We’re opening our doors on Sunday at 9am and Monday at 09.30 at Bearwood Recreation Ground, Winnersh to anyone who wants to give us a try.
We’d love to see you.
All you need is a mat or something to lie on, some old gloves and a bottle of water. It’s £7 per person.
