Friday with Heidi: Life…
Life.
It gets in the way sometimes doesn’t it?
There you are, fabulously going along, when a side swipe of life grabs you.
It might be a work review that wasn’t as you’d expected.
It could be a situation with one of your children that no parenting book can help you plan for.
Or it could be an issue with your parents that necessitates a role change and suddenly you realise that you now need to help look after them.
Anyone of these incidents whether big or small can derail the best intentions of a routine for self improvement.
Your sleep is affected.
You make food choices to treat or comfort you because you’re feeling low and a bit sorry for yourself.
Because you’ve eaten badly you really can’t be bothered to exercise, even though you know you’d feel better if you did.
And because you’ve eaten badly, you sleep poorly.
By this time the voice in the head is on repeat “why can’t I get my food right?“, “what’s wrong with me, I had this all figured out a few months ago?”
This is life.
I’ve observed many people go through this as I’ve helped them to move to feeling happier about themselves. It’s not that you are ‘crap with food‘ or ‘have no willpower‘.
In fact it’s not about food. It showing how you cope when things are at their worst. It’s your default mechanism to dealing with life.
This came up in my Metabolic Balance Facebook group this week and I made them a little video response, which may just hep you too.
Please note that this was for my Metabolic Balance ladies, it was filmed off the hoof and wasn’t aimed at a broader audience when I recorded it. However, it got some good feedback and I thought I’d share it with you too. I hope it’s useful. (Be warned it’s 8 minutes).
If you’d like to know more about the Metabolic Balance programme I am running an information morning on Sunday 18 March at 10:00 in Winnersh. All details, and the ability to reserve a space are on this link https://mb_intro_0318.eventbrite.co.uk
Come and find out how we’ve collectively lost 52 stone since last June. Improved health enough to become medication free in some and reduced in others. Improved skin conditions, knee and hand aches and stiffness, sleep, visceral fat and much more.
Have a great weekend.
Kind regards
Heidi
