Friday with Heidi: Working to your strengths…
I am writing to you from the luxury of the M6 Stafford Services Travelodge.
It is ideal for what I wanted.
It’s on the motorway, so no faffing about to find it.
It has a bed, a bathroom, power and free WiFi.
Perfect.
Travelodge have worked on what they do best and got on with it.
This week I’ve been thinking about strengths and how to use them best.
I saw the show ‘Kinky Boots’ on Monday (which was fab by the way) and showed how if you’re good at what you do you can be successful and happy. A good message that could be applied to both the story of the show and the people performing in it. I’ve not seen such a happy cast for a long time.
I also read a fabulous book in the week called Strengths Finder 2.0 by Tom Rath which also gives you access to an online assessment and report of your top 5 strengths.
The idea behind it being that if we can focus on our strengths rather than our weakneses we’ll be more productive, happier and more loyal in our work and happier in our lives.
It wasn’t really of any surprise to me that my top strength was called ‘Learner’. Someone who loves to learn for the journey of learning, rather than the end result and then shares the learning with others.
Ha! All that time one of my little voices was ‘why don’t you just stick at one thing?’ Now I feel free to keep up the book buying, course attending, workshop delivering lifestyle that I thrive on.
So following on with that theme, you may be interested to know that I am running an information session about Metabolic Balance, the bespoke nutrition programme that’s chanigng our clients lives at the moment, so you can see what it’s about and how to get involved.
This programme sticks to what it does best too. Getting healthy, consistent results.
Since I started to make this available to clients from last June, we have collectively lost 50 stones… that’s quite some effort!
If you want to find out more, please click this link and join me on Sunday 18 March at 10:00 in Winnersh where I’ll give you an overview of how it works, who it’s suitable for and I’ll share case study stories with you.

So this week, think about what you’re good at. Really good at. And do more of it. If in doubt, go online and get the book to do the test and let me know your top 5, I am intriged to know, but then that’s one of my top five too 🙂
Kind regards
