Friday with Heidi: Different and yet the same…

Two more Fridays until Christmas and, true to form, I’ve not done much about any of it yet.
I am completely different from Karen, who takes our Early Risers sessions. She’s had her tree up for weeks, presents bought and Christmas parties attended.
I’ve done none of that and decided instead that this we’d break all tradition and go to Scotland for a week. We’ve been here since Monday.
It’s been a nice way to combine working and getting my Scotland fix this year. I completely adore the place and rather than taking some quiet time away to breathe it all in. I’ve been inspired for new ideas and opportunities!
I was reminded yesterday just how different our likes and preferences are.
Dale and I were driving about and I was keen to get to a coast where I could walk along the beach. We parked up in a small town called Girvan and got out to walk the beach line.
It was blowing a gale, freezing cold and a little bit sleety. I was so excited to be out and about walking along the beach in the wind, that I went striding off. I soon realised that Dale wasn’t quite as close behind me as I thought and turned around to find him.
He was doubled hatted (hat and hood), hands scrunched into pockets and walking in a way that suggested that he wasn’t having much fun. He was muttering that his nose was red (it wasn’t) and that he was cold and miserable.
I however was feeling alive by the weather and taking beach photos and being outside.
I am glad we’re all different! I wouldn’t have wanted to share that beach with a bunch of people like me!
The subject of difference and how we learn, getting jobs done and tasks completed will be part of the Happiest Year Yet event on Saturday 6 January.
In 3 weeks I’ll be sharing why we’re not all the same (so stop comparing yourself to everyone else!).
What tricks you need to pull on yourself to get goals accomplished.
And why doing what you love makes you way more happy and successful than if you try to conform all the time.
I’d love to see you there. Places are free and you can book your place here on this link https://hyy2018.eventbrite.co.uk
Go and be Christmassy in a way that makes you happy this weekend!
Kind regards
