Friday with Heidi: How Old?

Well, here’s a first! An evening with me! I appreciate that I am not quite Graham Norton, but I’ll give it a go 🙂
I am very late today.
It’s as a result of two days of being busy in front of people. I like seeing people and interacting and chatting but I am, at heart, an introvert who finds it exhausting too. I am never energised by social gatherings, they wear me out! So I am pleased to now be home, chatting to you remotely so I can process and reflect on my two days.
So what have I been up to?
Yesterday it was all about me with FastTrack clients and 1-2-1 appointments and today was me being the audience and being in a business development environment to take time out of the day to day businessy stuff to think about the business.
Today I was lucky enough to sit next to Des, actually he prefers Desmond, but he had Des on his badge. He runs a chain of gyms and we hit it off. We chatted throughout the morning and he kept talking about his 35 years in the business, when he qualified as a Personal Trainer in 1981 and the ages of people he trains.
I had a deep nagging feeling this this chap, who I thought was late 30s maybe, maybe in his 40s, was older than I thought.
So I asked him.
He’s 57 in December! Ten years older than I am and looking 10 years younger. I liked him even more! What a fabulous chap. He was full of fun, laid back and interested in how he could learn new skills and strategies for his business.
We agreed that we love a course or further education or coaching, it makes you a better person and you always, always learn something. I am so glad I spent my day with him.
Talking of ages, did you know that FastTrack Fit Camp is 8 years old this month?
On 16 November 2009, Vida and I opened our virtual doors to 5 unsuspecting campers. We had no vision, no business plan, no strategy. Just an idea and some people to test it out on. Eight years on and it’s grown. I’ve learned loads, studied lots, achieved many things and recognised that if I’d have had a vision and a plan and a strategy I might be there by now. But given that I didn’t know where I was aiming, I can’t tell you if I got there or not. If there’s a learning from this email this week, it’s that! Know where you are heading, so you can tell if you got there.
Throughout the birthday month there will be special offers and opportunities for you to try us out, join us or enter competitions. Just keep opening the emails to stay up to date!
Tonight I am offering EIGHT of you (see what I did there?!) the chance to take advantage of our 6 Week Feel Good Challenge and get two weeks free (8 weeks for 6, who’d a thought?). It will take you up to the end of year and is a perfect way to face Christmas feeling amazing and keep you going through to New Year.
