Friday with Heidi: In the words of Nike…
I’m sending you a blustery messages this morning.
I’ve just got in from the Wokingham Early Risers session. I’ve been on the other side this week, where my group fitness career started, as a participant.
Despite the dark mornings we’ve had some warm and blustery weather this week and so working out in shorts and vest is still very doable and pleasant.
There is something very virtuous about being up before most others, getting your workout done before you really get your brain in gear and knowing that it’s something you don’t need to think about for the rest of the day.
How much of your internal chatter is about things you think you ‘should do’? The exercise class, the filing, cleaning the kitchen, drinking more water, sorting the piles of paper out?
All that internal chat about why, when and how is time not available for other more productive thought.
Here’s my Friday tip.
That message in your head that keeps going on and on? Just do it.
Chances are it won’t take long and once you get started and then completed, the relief you feel and space you have in your thoughts to be more productive elsewhere is hugely rewarding.
I challenge you to find that message that you have on loop and, if you can’t do it now, then mark in your diary for when you are going to do, tackle or complete it.
It will liberate you from the constant pressure you are putting on yourself for not being good enough, having enough time or never getting around to it.
If one of them is work out at the weekend, join us on Sunday at 9am at Bearwood Recreation Ground, Winnersh where you can join our pay-as-you-go session and see how you get on. It would be lovely to meet you.
