Friday with Heidi: The Unicorn…

This time last week I was knee deep in preparation for our Welsh Weekender. A 48 hour extravaganza with some of our FastTrack clients.
Karen and I, with the able kitchen support of my mum, hosted a fabulous weekend in Monmouthshire at High Cloud Farm (check it out if you ever need to house a large group).
We arrived Friday and had the most amazing sunset treat as the campers did an abs and stretch session.
On Saturday we got them out of their comfort zone with outdoor aqua aerobics in the on-site pool, hill intervals to get the glutes firing, circuits, exercise to music and an exercise in listening and not jumping into speak in a 5 minute one way conversation with a partner.
Sunday saw them try new beneficial foods to improve gut health, a human hungry hippo game and treasure hunt across the 30 acre site. They were then able to try out the hot tub and finish with a celebration of each others successes with an awards ceremony.
They all said how they felt that we’d squeezed a lot in without it feeling rushed. They loved the location and my meals went down pretty well too!
Getting out of your comfort zone can be scary and decidedly uncomfortable (funnily enough!) and I was really pleased with how they all embraced it fully.
Then on Monday I was contemplating all this and saw a wonderful poem on Facebook that I just have to share with you. I’d never hear of Shel Silverstein before and now I am hooked!
I hope you enjoy the Unicorn poem as much as I did.
