Friday with Heidi: September Stuff…

It’s been a while since I’ve been in touch, so I hope you had a gentle move from August to September without so much as a look back at summer longingly.
I do love the Autumn. It’s my favourite month (every month is my favourite month when I’m in it!) Dale and I have just come back from a holiday I started planning last year. It was our 25th anniversary earlier this month and I’d arranged a different type holiday to our normal to celebrate it.
I am quite proud of our length of service together and we had a lovely time in Sweden doing a wildlife trip to watch animals like beavers and moose and brown bears in their natural habitat. It was all very interesting and memorable.
However, I realised something about myself when we were there. I realised that I am not someone who likes to be held to times and deadlines whilst on holiday. I like to meander throughout the day, not be so propelled.
I also like my own space and there was very little ‘do nothing’ time — which I love when I am away. I love the time to collect my thoughts, prepare new ideas and goals and make decisions. I didn’t do that this year and I feel a bit like I still need to do it! So if you see me glazed over you know why.
At Fit Camp there is a lot going on. We’d love to see you at some of these things to get you moving for the Autumn.
Saturday 23 September is the launch of the 100 Day Fitness Challenge. Check out my videoshere to find out more, but in short, walk or run a mile a day for 100 days.
Sunday 24 September is the leaving party session for my Dad, Robin, who moves away next month. He’s been a Fit Camper almost from day one, is the fittest he’s ever been and, at 76, is still our best planker, holding the record for over 6 minutes. I don’t know how it will be not to have him around, only time will tell, but we’re having a Farewell Sunday Wake Up from 9am in Winnersh. If you know him, he’d love to see you. We’ll be doing coffee and cakes afterwards.
Friday 29 September to Sunday 1 October Karen and I are taking 16 Fit Campers with us to Wales for our annual Weekender Event. I am looking forward to this a lot. We’ve got a stunning property with amazing views, fabulous facilities and an programme that is completely different from the previous ‘up at dawn don’t stop til you drop’ programmes we’ve run before.
Finally, I am delighted to have been selected as a finalist in the Best Business Women Awardsin the Health and Wellness Category. It’s a national event and the final is in October. It’s another opportunity to not wear a dress and heels and yet still blend in 🙂
Have a great weekend and I hope to see you soon.
I’ll leave you with a view of Lake Hinsen from last Thursday evening. My kind of perfect!
