This week I have been collecting all the reasons I hear for why people can’t or won’t exercise regularly.
- No time
- Don’t like it
- Can’t do it
- Too unfit
- Too far away
- Need to lose weight first
- Just had a baby
- Long commute
- Too expensive
- Not motivated on my own
- Don’t want to work out with people
- Don’t like being outside
And then considering all the reasons why people come to try FastTrack Fit Camp out initially.
- Want more energy
- Want to feel better
- Would like to be fit like I was when I was younger again
- Want to lose weight
- Just had a baby
- Sat on my bum all day and need to be active
- Need to invest in me each month so that I will commit to myself to go
- I just won’t do it on my own
- Want to work out with people like me
- Like that I can be in a group and meet others
- Don’t like the gym, want to try something new.
And then on Monday I received a text from a lady who told me her bootcamp was closing down and, because she’d benefited so much from it, she was going to come along to our Winnersh session on Friday (today), pay her membership and get started with us. She added that she’d be coming by bus and that she is 70.
She’s never met us, never trained with us and we’ve not even spoken. Just had numerous text exchanges.
I like her already. She’s going to get great results wherever she goes. She has the right attitude, the right mindset and an ‘it’s down to me’ approach to life that I love about her.
And then last night I read this fabulous (short) article on the European Masters Athletics Championships in Aarhus, Denmark and I remembered all over again how we get what we focus on and want.
If any of us want to feel good, move easily, be pain free, manage our weight, our time or our money better then we will find ways to do it. If we don’t, we won’t.
When reading the article, check out the times and results of their events! Amazing 🙂
Finally, if you’ve been following my Metabolic Balance journey you may be interested to see the video I did this week to summarise my first 12 weeks.
Have a great weekend. Make the most of these last few weeks of August.
