Friday with Heidi: Consistency, the key to your success…

Oh what a stunner!
I am never happier than when I have a sunrise or sunset to oggle and this morning was no exception.
It’s set me up for my day perfectly.
I had to drive around Wokingham a bit this morning to find a place with big enough sky to capture it, but chuffed that I managed.
This week I’ve been reminded on more than one occasion how consistency is key to any success.
It’s a bit quieter than normal at Fit Camp sessions at the moment. People are on holiday, being more social and doing summer trips. When it’s like this I get more time to talk to clients and find out what makes them tick, what they love and what they get out of coming.
This week Oliver told me how much better he feels now that he exercises regularly each week. He was already cycling a bit, but now that he’s committed to two to three sessions each week at Fit Camp he’s noticed the change in his mood and attitude as well as stamina and fitness.
My ladies at Early Risers this morning all came to camp with a bleary look about them and mutterings of ‘nearly didn’t make it today’ about them. By the time we we stretching and talking about their breakfast and the weekend they were telling me how they always feel better for comingalong and would have been criticising themselves all day if they’d talked themselves out of it.
On Wednesday night we got pretty drenched at the Swallowfield camp but, with eleven happy campers there you could be mistaken for thinking that they hadn’t realised. A simple comment from me when the heavens opened of ‘Oh what a night…’ ended up in an impromptu karaoke-sing-a-long-a-Fit-Camp that only comes from people who know each other well enough to be a bit silly and still work out whilst it’s hacking it down.
I then read this article from The Guardian yesterday that tells of how the brain functions better with regular exercise. How memory improves, depression is improved better with exercise than medication, creativity expands and concentration is bettered.
Whatever your view on exercise or looking after yourself, you can’t deny that being active each day will help you to have a healthier life.
Exercise two to three times a week, be active every day and your physical and mental fitness will improve in ways you haven’t even considered.
I’d love to show you what we can do for you at FastTrack Fit Camp. We offer a free trial for anyone wanting to give us a go. If that’s you, please click this link http://fasttrack-fitcamp.co.
Oh! and whilst I’m here, I made this recipe this week for the campers on back of an oversized courgette I was given. I reduced the sugar to 150g and it was delicious!

Have a lovely weekend!
