I write to you this week with time markers on my mind.
Whether we’re measuring how long until the weekend, how many glasses of wine to have or how much faster we can run we’ve got some calculation going on. Everything will be at a different phase in our calculation and we’ll keep it all in heads juggling multiple bits of information to keep us moving forwards.
This week I’ve seen beginnings, middles and ends.
I’ve started the publication part of my book this week. I’ve sent the manuscript to the publisher and have been asked to send a brief to the designer for the cover design. Talk about being out of my comfort zone! That’s the beauty of beginnings. It’s a learning phase, the ‘stuff’ is exciting and new and you’re keen to keep up with it as it’s a new experience.
It’s the middle of the year today. How did that happen?
It marks an important point for me as I like to look at where I am and what I need to do to keep on track with my 2017 personal and business goals.
This week I also got to the middle, the 6 week mark, of the 12 week Metabolic Balance® programme I’ve been talking about recently.
It’s an interesting place to be as I’ve met the weight loss target I set for myself (losing 19 lbs in 5 weeks) already. That’s part has been easy to stick with as I have seen the changes and know that what I’m doing is working. The second half will be more challenging. I’ll be working to improve my health by following the programme to improve health markers in my blood. I won’t this has worked until I get it retested in a few months time. Sticking becomes tougher when you’ve been doing it a while and can’t see what’s different. Time will tell!
Finally, it’s an end today too. I am off on a road trip today to collect Sophie, our younger daughter, from Leeds who has finished her 4 year University course. I can’t believe she’s done already, she’s packed so much in during that time from hitchhiking to Amsterdam, climbing Kilimanjaro, spending a year in Australia and this year performing in 3 plays in addition to her final year’s course work.
I know she’s sad that it’s all over, but she has the excitement of beginnings, new starts, new experiences and new challenges infront of her.
What are you starting on new at the moment? What’s become a part of your life because you’re half way through it and what’s come full circle?
If you want to know how my 6 weeks have gone, here’s my latest video.
Have a great week. I’m off to head up the M1.
P.S. If you want to see what we do and support the SSAFA charity at the same time, we’re holding a family Fit Camp event at 10 a.m. on Sunday at Bearwood Recreation Ground, Winnersh RG41 5DU — all welcome and all funds to the charity. It would be great to see you!
