Friday with Heidi: My best week this year (and how you can have that too)
I’ll get straight to the point!
I’ve had a fantastic week.
Not only have I been judged to be a semi-finalist in the Venus Awards Inspirational Woman category (so pleased!) but I have also been part of and experienced the power of accountability.
If you’ve not seen my blog about the Venus Awards you can find it here. I really am delighted to be up for this award. This category is sponsored by Reading University and they selected five of us to to go through to the next round from an application of fifty five women. How damn cool is that?
As exciting as that was on Monday, I was even more chuffed, goose-bumpy and teary-eyed that I was part of a fabulous group of people I met last November.
I believe in on-going self development and in November I joined a business development programme called KPI. On our first day we were allocated to tables with five other delegates and these people were selected by the course organisers to be our accountability group for the next 40 weeks of the course.
We have just clicked so well and the power of the group is helping us to achieve way more than we could have ever achieved on our own. Part of the the work is publishing our book (I did tell you I was writing a book didn’t I?!) and to make sure that collectively the whole group (all 40 of us) keep to target there was a 500,000 word challenge.
All this meant was that we had six weeks to write our first draft and submit our word count by last Friday. If we all did about 30,000 words we’d have a first draft, but if the bigger group collectively reached this target then we’d win some additional training.
As a group of 6 we’ve set ourselves some tough targets. We all run our own businesses already with all the time constraints that brings us, client and staff time, plus we have families, partners and some of them have had holidays in these last six weeks too.
I was beyond proud on Wednesday when during the webinar to reveal if the larger group had hit 500,000 words we were shown who had completed their 30,000 word contribution.
Everyone in our group of 6 had. We were the only accountability group to have all completed our first draft and our mini-joint contribution of six people was 25% of the total score for 40 people. It was bloody brilliant and now we’re all really keyed up to make sure we can make the next stage of our goal.
Jim Rohn, the motivational speaker and entrepreneur said that ‘you’re the average of the five people you spend most of your time with’ . Good. Because these people have lifted me up, made me stretch my capabilities and make stuff happen.
So here’s my offer to you.
It made me wonder how I can help you get what you really want. How I can harness this power of group accountability with people needing help with their health and fitness.
Are you struggling to get results that you feel are out of your reach? Would you like to see what you could do if you had to, if you didn’t want to let someone else down? What could you achieve in 21 days if you had someone checking in on you each day?!
I’m running a programme during March and April called Accountability Power Group 21. A 21 day programme where you get assigned a FastTrack accountability partner or two (or you can find someone to join up with you) and we give you the access to Fit Camp, the nutrition and lifestyle advice for 21 days to make stuff happen (MSH).
I bet you’ll be amazed at what you can do.
To get on the list, to find out more please email us at admin@fasttrack-fitcamp.co.uk and we’ll email some information to you about it so you can get yourself in the right place, with the right people for results way better than if you did it on your own.
If you want a new group of five people to lift you up, if you want to be part of the group who MSH, if you want to be amazed at what you can do in 21 days — email us at admin@fasttrack-fitcamp.co.uk, let’s get you inspired and energised and goose-bumpy too!
