Remember ‘I Can’?

Do you remember the post I wrote back in October about Richard McCann?
I’d seen him speak at a business event and was moved to tears by his presentation. That blog is here, but today I wanted to share with you what happens when you say ‘I Can‘ like Richard does and encourages others to do.
At that event back in October I took a very bold and scary decision to invest in me and FastTrack Fit Camp. I embarked on a two year coaching programme that supports fitness businesses and helps them to get to where they want to go.
It was big and scary for two reasons.
1. It was a financial commitment.
2. It was two years.
Oh boy has it paid off. 🙂
I attended another one of these events last weekend and was asked to be one of the presenters to talk about my experience on stage to the audience of 150 fitness business owners.
There were 5 of us asked and it was announced, before we spoke, that the audience were to judge who was the best speaker at the end of the segment.
I only went and won it!
And the prize is immense. Coaching with the CEO and founder of the company. I am beyond happy and scared and excited and terrified all at once.
Who doesn’t want help with getting where they want to be from people who are established and succeeding in what they do?
But I realised that I only got this opportunity because I said ‘I Can’ back in October.
There were people in the audience who were with me then who didn’t step up and haven’t moved on.
How many times have you not taken an opportunity because you were scared or worried or thought that you can’t afford it?
The greatest results in life aren’t from quick wins. They are the product of accumulated work, day in day out. The results come when you still get on with it when you’d really rather not or when you’re scared and worried about what might happen but you do it anyway or that you think you can’t afford it when really you can’t afford not to.
It’s just like health, wellness and weight loss. It’s an accumulation of lots of effort. For the very best results it needs to steady, ongoing and habitual so as to become part of your lifestyle and I can assure you it’s really worth the wait.
Rather than desperately going for crash diets and going the gym every day a month before your holiday. Get in the habit of exercising three times a week now so that it’s not a rush and a stress nearer the time. Start by eating more salad and vegetables now, rather than cutting all the ‘bad’ stuff out and feeling deprived before you go and bingeing when you get there!
Consider this … when did you last say ‘I Can’t’ when really you wanted to say ‘I Can’?
Where could you have been now if you had said ‘I Can’ then, where will you be in 6 months, 1 year, two years time if you say ‘I Can’ today?
To your ever brilliant success, health and happiness.
