RHM Blog: Day 60 – 64
Saturday 14 March
Not a lot going on here. Just mooching and eating and sleeping. Slightly bothered that I didn’t run in the gym again — but have felt a bit flat all week and not really bothered enough to do anything about it.
Sunday 15 March (1 week to go)
Came home today. Had a complete blow out at the airport. I don’t know what came over me but we got there very early and decided to have a drink. So two pints, 1 shared portion of chips and a chicken burger and chips later I thought I should stop 🙂
Horribly cramped on the way home and not at all pleasant. If I get DVT and can’t run I’ll be very annoyed.
Ate even more on the plane and rolled off at 06.30 to get home in time for breakfast…only kidding. Went straight to bed and slept for four hours. I think that was the best thing I did, as I’ve not suffered from any jet lag since.
Monday 16 March – Wednesday 18 March
Have contemplated running a 5km all week. It’s not happened. There is one more group run to go on Thursday and I am really not keen on going to that either. However I got a bit of an ear bashing from a fellow runner and so I’ll go and put the effort in for this last pre-race run.
I’ve been drinking more water all week and eating a few more starchy carbs than normal, more through craving than planning. I have become the master at making 2 pancakes and eating them within 5 minutes. I created a fabulous Tom Yum soup and even found myself eating a gluten free baguette, just because I fancied it. I am not a lover of pre-made gluten free foods, but I let go of my own rules on this occasion.
