RHM Blog: Day 36-37

Wednesday 18 February
No run today. Want to be ready and looking forward to the 2 hour group run tomorrow. I feel quite happy about the prospect actually. Have eaten well today so ready for tomorrow.
Thursday 19 February
Group run with the ladies today. We set off at 9am as it was half term and the mums with young kiddies didn’t have to worry about a school run drop off. We met at Cantley Park, the sun was out, it was chilly but very nice weather for a run. Karen outlined the route and the rules. Run slowly, don’t race ahead and we’re running to Bracknell…she dropped that in like we weren’t supposed to hear it, but I did! Bracknell…I drive there. I don’t run there 😀
And we did indeed run to Bracknell, the whole run was quite lovely. I had one ear-phone in with music playing and my tracker telling me distance and speed. And we did really well. Karen is amazingly good at setting a pace. We ran 10 min miles pretty much the whole way around that route. Dead on, no messing, perfect timing. You’ve got to give it to her. She knows how to train us.
I was so pleased with my run today. My pace was the best it’s been yet, I wasn’t struggling, my legs were good and I felt as though I could easily have carried on. We ran back into Cantley just over 2 hours after we left and ran about 12 miles. I was so chuffed! This half marathon now feels very do-able and quicker than my predicted time too.
Had a very busy rest of the day and so didn’t get time to think about being tired or achey. Probably should have eaten more afterwards, but I am not wasting away so not too worried about that!
