RHM Blog: Day 8-9

2 mile walk and that’s it. Sat down all day and not much else.
Monday 19 January
Oh look: day 3 of my 2 day course! I decided I needed to get a run in today if I was to stay on top of my game as I have another 3 day course to go to from Thursday and won’t be running then either.
So I got up at 5.30 and did a 4 mile tempo run. This means running at a faster pace and hitting a specific time (as specified by Karen based on my first speed test). Well…it was early and I am not that keen on going anything other than my pace, but I found that tough.
I ran with as much effort as I could between mile 2 and 3 but had to walk just for 25 metres or so for a bit as I was not sure I was going to continue. There is however nothing more motivating than knowing that you need to leave the house at a certain time and making sure you get back home in time to get ready!
There was no commuter traffic and only one dog walker out so I loved the loneliness of it all. However 5.30 running is not my favourite and I won’t be doing it again in a hurry!
