RHM Blog: Day 3

Tuesday 13 January
Because I delayed and procrastinated so much last week I need to do all my runs this week daily before the group meets on Thursday. So today I am off for a 4 mile slow run.
As I said already, I haven’t exercised since the summer and I only have one speed. This was going to be interesting.
However I do now have a new mindset about the whole Half Marathon thing and had no problem finding time, getting ready and going out to run at 16.30 today. I would normally avoid this time as it’s a) too busy with the end of school turn-out and b) it’s daylight !! I much prefer running in the dark and anonymity.
The whole thing was a revelation…4 slow miles was BRILLIANT! I smiled, I loved it, I couldn’t run slow enough or manage my pacing brilliantly and I am sure I’ll get better at that, but it was all rather enjoyable and put me in a fantastic mood for the rest of the day.
