*** Throwback Thursday ***

This is me aged 4.

As a baby my mum would wrap me up in my pram and put the pram in the garden when I was sleeping...all year around. The story goes that I was found one afternoon, in December, with snow on me!

At 4 my mum would send me out to play in the rain. I made mud pies, climbed on my climbing frame, did wacky races down the driveway with my neighbourhood friends and sat under the willow tree in homemade net-curtain fancy dress outfits. I'd skip with my nan, play under the sheet tent and more. It was all outside!

It was an outside life.

It still is when I can.

What bits of you as a 4 year old are you still keeping hold of?

That’s adorable! Think we were the same - outdoors free

I remember being always outside in the vegetable patch or garden picking petals and putting them in jar of water to make perfume x

Always outdoors, we were feral, making dens, climbing trees, driveway obstacle courses with neighbours kids and then we spent every holiday at my grandparents property in north Devon with cousins and we would literally be out all day, maybe not at 4 but not long after .... in the woods, trying to dam their little river ... simpler times 😍

We spent hours making dens in Langley Park!

My two grandkids ( Bailey and Charlie) have spent the morning at the yard with me, looking for treasure with their home made metal detectors aka sticks! Happy as pigs in poo 😆

On a slightly different note..... the part of me I’m hanging on to even pre 4 year old 😆 are my chubby toddler thighs 🤦‍♀️

We had a wooded bit at the end of the garden I literally spent hours making mud pies with imaginary fairy folk 😍

Religiously we visited one set of grandparents on Saturday and the other set on the Sunday.... Every weekend. My maternal grandparents lived by the river and we had to go for a long walk (seemed it then) along the towpath every time. I can remember the "do we have to", "what again" moans. And Gramps always hung me over the railings on a certain stretch of the river! I love walking that stretch now along the towpath. We always played cowboys and indians with the other kids from the street over the 'dump' - a piece of waste ground a few hundred yards from us. "We're going over the dump Mum" we'd shout and then leg it out the door. Then Mum would have to come to get us when it was getting near 'tea-time'. That dump's got a school on it now! We had our once a year holiday to the seaside on the south coast. Mum slathered us in sun cream (looked like ghosts) and we stayed on the beach all day - no moving after Dad had set up "the sheet"! We had sandy sandwiches, fell asleep under towels and after a short kip we'd carry on making sandcastles and damns until we were nearly the last ones to leave. Simple times

Heidi your photo has the look of someone who has just discovered the burpee and is thinking how to deploy it 🥵

In a chat with someone today they told me that they 'don't eat in the day'...

When I asked more around this there was some silence, some nervousness and some laughing before it was shared that they did indeed 'snack' ... on 'biscuits, lots of biscuits'.

Sometimes we get an idea in our head that because we're not eating a meal, or something hot, or with a knife and fork that it's not 'eating'...

What beliefs have you started to believe about your health, fitness, wellness?!

It’s all down to me - what I do and eat - and it all benefits me so JFDI!!

More importantly, where do I get one of those mugs!

Similarly (& sadly ☹️) that drinking alcohol, while very enjoyable, is 'eating' if you're talking calories and it doesn't take a lot to turn into a "calorie surplus" for the day....

Never mind the eating chat, where do I get a mug WITH A BISCUIT POCKET?

Interesting article about egg sizing and the current climate. Whislt Fluffetts aren't Berkshire based I am sure it's the same for all egg producers.
